Failte!

Whether you've stumbled into these woods by choice or by design, Welcome! This site is very green and new (as am i ) to things technological. I assure you there will be updates, and please bear with the initial sputters of it's early growth, i do hope it can serve the wider Druid, Gaeltachd, and Celtic communities as a whole. My Goal her is to start a forum for Canadian (Anglo-Franco) based Gaelic Polytheistic reconstructionist revivalism (Poly-Recon-Revivalism for short, lol). That said i am ArdDraoi Brock Adams (Ollamh Adams suits me just fine), ArdDraoi Emeritus of ArdNemeton o Thuaithe (High-Nemeton of the North)., and proprietor of Sabhal Beag nOttar (little barn of Ottar), a Canadian-Scots-Gaelic and Celtic arts center. Following the exodus of Ulster in 325CE with Dal Araide (Dal Riada) the Tuathail Scotii (People of Scota) settled across the waves in Air Geala (Argyll) amongst the Caledonii. Here they existed and grew until the greatd dissruption of the clearances and the great wars which resulted in much Scottish immigration to Canada. In true Celtic style, most of the Celtic immigrants did what they could to leave their homeland in Scotland and to do their best to assimilate to Canadian culture, others however did not see this as an end to celtic culture, and strove to keep up what they could of what had now become sean- nos (old custom). From that clinging to ancient custom, as well as the newly aforded freedom to practice the old-ways with out fear of eclesiastical persecution sprang wave after wave of celtic revival. Because the new world did not have the boundaries of the old-world, many styles both artistic, and eclesiastical were given an opportunity to blend like never before. To many traditionalists this was resulting in a weakening the purity of the old practice, but to some is was the organic development of a unique and insular development upon a custom. ...must to bed, more to come
